I want to tell you a thumb rule here!
It is really a general knowledge that "If you want to get visitors to your web site, you have to market (submit to search engines, traffic exchanges, etc.,) and/or advertise (by means of free Ads and participation in discussion forums, etc.,) your web URL to the people who will get benefited from your website's information or product/services offered from your end". Marketing is a nice tool for getting more traffic to your website, but that is only a small part of it. You have to do research to know the gimmicks, tips and tricks that are making some of the web sites in the internet community, stand out better than others (like me and you...!). This is where you will find them.
As previously stated, the first thing is to get traffic to your web site, you have to keep your website on top of the search engine's results list (I mean if a person searches with some key words in Google, your webpage should appear in the first 5 search results). In order to achieve this, you should keep your website/blog updated by changing it in some way/with some new topics everyday.
Make a note that, there should be some relationship with all your topics. Search engine spiders from Google and Yahoo, used to crawl around the internet on a daily basis, looking for the most current and up to date websites when they are offering search results (to the person who is searching with some key words) because if the information is current/updated the search engine gives more hits, to your site.
Last but not least, you can ask that how to update the website on a daily basis? Where to go for such related topic articles? Do not worry about this issue; I suggest you to update daily your website, without doing a whole lot of editing your webpage. I noticed in the internet community that many people are putting weather software, online cricket score updates, ticker stock software, etc., on their sites because it's a known fact that these update information in your webpage every day or in some cases every hour.
This type of technique works because the website information has changed, and also the hosts have done nothing from their hand/system. Add links by which your visitors can download songs without paying any charge to you. Nowadays, music download sites charge some dollars just for getting the password to enter their websites. But still some sites like cool goose, etc., are offering free services, from where you can offer songs to your visitors.
